The Road Haulage Association and the Builders Merchants Federation have called for a freeze in fuel duty to avoid the issue 'derailing the UK economy'.
Tory MP Robert Halfon tabled the Common motion on fuel prices, which was approved by MPs without a vote. However, it is not binding on ministers. Halfon believes plans to raise fuel duty should be scrapped.
