Graham Plumbers’ Merchant has announced its shortlist for the Graham College Refresh Scheme.

The winning college will be announced at an awards presentation on 14 June at Worcester Bosch’s head office, where £10,000 will be awarded for the winning college to spend on updating its plumbing and heating training workshops.

The competition was open to colleges across the UK and was judged on a range of criteria from level of need and strength of application, to the potential positive impact on students and trainers, both now and in the future.

The shortlisted colleges are: City College Norwich, Hull College, Brockenhurst College’s Marchwood Campus, and New City College’s Hackney Campus. Select representatives of each college will be present at the awards ceremony, which will also include a tour of the Worcester Bosch factory and a CPD training session.

The £10,000 prize money can be put towards materials, labour and any other project costs associated with the refresh of the winning college’s plumbing and / or heating training area. Furthermore, Worcester Bosch will also offer expert technical advice and support, which will allow students to have an unrivalled opportunity to develop their knowledge and skill set.

Ian Kenny, Marketing Director at Graham, said: “Graham is keen to support the development of the next generation of heating and plumbing professionals. It’s especially rewarding to see the students and apprentices we welcome at our trade counters grow into technical experts and business owners in their own right and training colleges have a huge role to play in making this happen. We therefore hope that the prize will have a significant impact on the winning college and make a notable difference to its students’ learning environment.”
