Baxi has bolstered its training offering for heating engineers in the East Midlands with the launch of a new base in Nottingham.

Opened in partnership with New College Nottingham, the centre will be able to train more than 1,500 installers each year.

Designed using customer feedback, the training includes hands-on sessions, tips from the company's trainers and professional advice on products and troubleshooting. Topics covered include installation, servicing, commissioning and fast fault finding – making it easier for installers to develop the key skills and knowledge they need to deliver excellent customer service.

The new centre means that Baxi now has 15 training centres across the UK and Ireland.

Steve Owen, national training manager at Baxi, said: "Given our longstanding commitment to providing industry leading training for installers, we are delighted to be strengthening our presence in the East Midlands with this fantastic new facility.

"In our fast-paced industry, it can be difficult for heating engineers to keep up to date with the latest products and practices. However, with our free training courses, they can develop the skills needed to ensure trouble-free installation of all Baxi appliances, and keep their customers happy.”

Trevor Burton, head of Academy for Construction at New College Nottingham, said: "It's great that the college has key industry links with Baxi to ensure that installers remain highly skilled in their roles. Our students will also benefit from the links, as they will be able to train with the latest equipment and gain advice from industry specialists."
