Plumbers' merchant staff at a Scottish branch of Graham are celebrating a million pound lottery win.

The eight-strong syndicate, from a branch in Galashiels on the Scottish borders, will receive a total of £927,429 – giving each member £115,928.

Three of the eight winners no longer work at Graham, but decided to remain in the syndicate. Only one worker at the branch was not part of the lotto syndicate.

Branch manager Mike Ormiston, who runs the syndicate, said: "We're all over the moon. We're just waiting for Camelot to come and verify the ticket, so we're trying not to get too excited until that's been done.

He added: "On Friday we shared out the money we had won over the year as a wee Christmas bonus – about £35 each. We've been paying into a syndicate for years but we've never won any large amounts before. It's not really sunk in yet."

Their syndicate was one of five tickets which matched the winning numbers and will share the overall prize of £4,637,145.
