The Heating & Hotwater Industry Council (HHIC) has launched a new web site aimed at simplifying the forthcoming Energy Labelling legislation.

From 26 September 2015, new boilers, heat pumps, and water heaters need to display a label to show their energy performance. This is further complicated by a ‘package’ label being required when several products are installed together.

Developed together with the Hot Water Association and BEAMA, the site provides information to help visitors get to grips with what the introduction of the scheme will mean for them.

“This new legislation will have an impact on most people working in the heating industry whether a manufacturer, installer or merchant. It isn’t a surprise as we have been working together with our European colleagues for many months now but it will take some time to understand the differing responsibilities,” said Roger Webb, director of HHIC.

“HHIC have created this web site to explain in the simplest terms what these individual responsibilities are and what actions will need to be taken. With a clear step by step guide, frequently asked questions and glossary section I hope that those affected will be able to use this site to support them through the introduction of this new energy label.”
