Gas Safe Charity, part of Gas Safe Register, has revealed a new website enabling children to learn about gas safety in the classroom.

GetGasSafe.org.uk provides free educational resources surrounding gas safety and is aimed at primary school teachers so that they can deliver vital safety messages to their pupils. Resources include classroom lesson plans, presentations, videos, homework sheets and an interactive house activity, which allows pupils to spot dangers and hazards in the house.

The resources are designed to help pupils manage risk responsibly and learn about gas. Materials include electrical safety advice from Electrical Safety First, and the campaign is also supported by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.

The website has been launched alongside a theatrical roadshow, in which actors are touring primary schools across the country, putting on a performance to explain the importance of gas safety and how to identify other risks and hazards in the home. The 10-week tour kicked off in Newcastle earlier this month and will conclude in Wales at the end of March.
