Rok administration: Further redundancies announced
Published:  17 November, 2010

Administrator PricewaterhouseCoopers today confirmed a further 1,800 redundancies at Rok plc and Rok Building Limited after attempts to sell parts of the business failed.

Administrator PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) today confirmed a further 1,800 redundancies at Rok plc and Rok Building Limited after attempts to sell parts of the business failed.

The redundancies are in the UK maintenance and improvements division as well as the construction business in Scotland. The construction and social housing division in England remains unaffected pending sale.

PwC's partner and joint administrator Rob Hunt said: "Regrettably, the redundancies made today were necessary as it became clear in the last 24 hours that we were not going to be able to find a purchaser for these parts of the group.

"Staff affected by this will be paid for the period since we were appointed, including today."
