Greenworks Training Academy has announced its support of the government’s plans to tackle fuel poverty, following confirmation of the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme’s extension until 2017.

Marcus Jefford from Greenworks said: “This is an exciting time to be in the energy efficiency and sustainable building industry, as legislation and government schemes are taking real leaps in improving the housing stock, as well as people’s lives.

“We urge installers to see the announcement for ECO to continue until 2017 as an opportunity, particularly for insulation and renewable heat and energy technology. As the government’s energy targets get closer, the general building industry must be there to support with the skills, knowledge and product availability to really make a difference to the energy efficiency of British homes.”
