British company Oxford Photovoltaics has won £100,000 in development funding from The Technology Strategy Board.

Innovate10 competition was launched in September. The competition saw 550 businesses submit video pitches outlining proposals in one of four themes: energy; digital; healthcare; and sustainability.

Entrants were shortlisted to 15, then three for each theme. The competition culminated in live pitches before a panel of judges.

The board believes Oxford Photovoltaics' invention, which won the energy category, "has the potential to become a dominant solution in the building integrated photovoltaic market".

The manufacturer will commercialise new solar-glazing technology which is printed onto glass and can be semi-transparent in a variety of colours.
