A plumber has been given a suspended jail sentence for carrying out illegal work on gas boilers.
The Health & Safety Executive learned self-employed Frank Davey from Norfolk fitted new gas boilers in three properties in 2009, but was not Gas Safe-registered. Inspection of his work found that it was defective and dangerous, with one house having a gas leak.
Davey pleaded guilty to breaching health and safety laws. He received a three-month suspended jail sentence and was banned from working with gas and electricity for two years. Davey was also ordered to pay £1,000 in costs.
