Energy-efficiency measures can help decrease anxiety, suggests NEA
Published:  19 May, 2014

National Energy Action (NEA) has voiced its support of Mental Health Awareness week, which this year took place from 12 - 18 May.

“Vulnerable households suffering from fuel poverty and fuel debt have told NEA: ‘You’re scared to turn the heating up a little extra because you know you won’t have the money to pay for it. In your heart, you worry; you are all of the time thinking about how much that bill is going to be’. After receiving energy efficiency measures, our research indicates these attitudes change.

“One household’s response was: ‘Our wellbeing has improved significantly in winter because we know we can afford to keep the home warm'.”
