Nine major contractors aim to save industry £25 million
Published:  09 May, 2014

Nine of the UK's biggest contractors have agreed to adopt best-practice pre-qualification practices, which could save the industry up to £25 million per year by reducing duplication.

Vinci, Kier, Bouygues UK, Lend Lease, Seddon, Longcross Construction, Lakehouse, Bullock and McLaughlin & Harvey have all pledged to adopt the government-endorsed pre-qualification register Constructionline, Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) and PQQ standard PAS91:2013 in a bid to streamline procurement within their supply chains.

“We also have peace of mind in knowing we are aligned to government initiatives like PAS91 and Safety Schemes in Procurement. Alongside this, Constructionline provides us with support in sourcing local, small businesses for our regional projects.”
