UK register of pre-qualified contractors and consultants Constructionline has been appointed as the pre-qualification gateway on a £120m framework by housing association buying consortium, Procurement For All.
The four-year framework, announced through the Official Journal of the European Union, incorporates new build and internal works including central heating, kitchens and bathroom installations for 16 housing providers across the UK.
Procurement For All will use Constructionline to assess and monitor bidders to government standards using its online procurement system, which currently has more than 22,000 pre-qualified contractors, consultants and material suppliers.
In addition, the consortium will leverage Constructionline's SME engagement programmes, such as its Meet the Buyer Events and Supplier Days, to help broaden its current supplier base and help increase access to its sub-contractors among SME suppliers.
Michael Waddington, client relationship manager at Constructionline, said the framework represents the significant opportunities available to contractors in the housing sector.
Using Constructionline means Procurement For All will be able to save time assessing individual pre-qualification questionnaires for the wealth of suppliers likely to bid over the lifetime of the framework.
Keith Armstrong, managing director at Procurement For All, said: "A key goal of Procurement For All is attracting SMEs to bid for work, and we will be drawing on Constructionline's services as well as its various engagement initiatives to encourage and help them to tender."
