Volkswagen is on the hunt for a 60-year-old tradesman who works as hard as its Transporter to celebrate the van's 60th anniversary.

Since the Transporter's UK launch in March 1950, over 10 million vans have been produced, with many evolutions along the way.

"The Volkswagen Transporter has become one of the most iconic vans on the road today," said director of commercial vehicles, Simon Elliott.

"We are looking for [a] local tradesman who can boast the same – they are hardworking, enduring, they've evolved through the decades to become better at what they do, and, above all, they're 60 this year."

The winner will be invited to share in the Transporter's birthday celebrations with a cake made in their honour, as well as acknowledgement of their achievements in their field.

To nominate a candidate, you need to explain what they do, how long for, and why they are the hardest working tradesman in their area. Contact Volkswagen at transporter60@connect-group.com or via Twitter at www.twitter.com/volkswagen-cv by 31 July.
