The Easy MCS & Easy Green Deal training academy has been officially opened to an audience of industry leaders ranging from government level through to certification bodies and prospective installers and advisors.

Easy MCS supports installers in achieving MCS Accreditation and entering the renewable sector, and has won a number of awards including the Morgan Foundation Award for Best New Business in 2011.

The Easy MCS Academy, based in Flintshire, provides candidates from across the UK with the opportunity of real life training experience to ensure they are fully prepared to enter the renewable sector. The academy offers training across a range of technologies including solar PV, solar thermal and ground & air source heat pumps.

With the launch of the Green Deal in October, Easy MCS launched sister company Easy Green Deal to offer similar support services to installers and assessors looking to enter this sector.

The Easy Green Deal academy offers training courses for assessors looking to become Domestic Energy Assessors and Green Deal Advisors. Green Deal advisors will be the cornerstone of the Green Deal, performing the property assessments required to ensure the right energy efficiency measures are installed.

Alongside this, the academy will be offering Green Deal installation courses and support to prospective installers to ensure they achieve Green Deal certification.

Company director of Easy MCS & Easy Green Deal, Thomas Farquhar said: “The launch today is a culmination of the hard work of the entire team and all our industry partners. The support that has been shown by the people who have attended today has been unprecedented and we couldn’t have done it without everyone involved. The Green Deal is an exciting new venture for our company and we hope the investment we have made in these high quality facilities will offer a unique and unrivalled experience to our customers”.
